Setting Up Your E-mail

Once you've changed your password in SmarterMail as described here, you may choose to use Microsoft Outlook to manage all of your email in one place. Here's how:

Setting Up Microsoft Outlook

  1. In Microsoft Outlook, select Tools > E-mail Accounts
    In Microsoft Outlook, select Tools > E-mail Accounts
  2. On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select Add a new e-mail account and click Next

  3. For Server Type, select POP3 and click Next

  4. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, enter your information as follows:
  5. Your Name
    Enter your first and last name.
    E-mail Address
    Enter your e-mail address.
    User Name
    Enter your e-mail address again.
    Password
    Enter the NEW password you set up for your e-mail account.
    Incoming mail server (POP3)
    Enter mail.yourdomainname.com - but replace "yourdomainname.com" with YOUR Domain Name. For example, if your new email address is One@SmartCookie.net, you would type mail.SmartCookie.net for your incoming mail server.
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
    Enter mail.yourdomainname.com - but replace "yourdomainname.com" with YOUR Domain Name. For example, if your new email address is One@SmartCookie.net, you would type mail.SmartCookie.net for your incoming mail server.
    On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, enter your information as follows:
  6. Click More Settings
  7. In the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the Outgoing Server tab.
  8. Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
    Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click Next.
    Click Next.
  11. Click Finish.
    Click Finish.
